Santa Cruz Jackal

You may not be another Kirt Voreis or Jamie Goldman yet, but when you're about to be pitched sideways off the lip at the jump park, you're still going to need the same confidence knowing your bike is not going to be in two pieces when you land. The Jackal features an awesomely-inspired, hydroformed top tube, choice of horizontal or vertical dropouts, and the ability to accept a fork with 160 mm of travel. Go ahead, dig as deep as you can into your bag of big air tricks. The Jackal won't mind a bit.

Santa Cruz Chameleon

If one were to compare our quiver of bikes to a Swiss Army knife, then the Chameleon would most certainly be the standard blade. Both are always reliable in any situation. Whether you want to get cross-eyed on a day-long geared or single speed ride, throw on some slicks for an urban assault mission, or go down to the dirt jumps and perfect your bar spin and Superman seat grabs, the ultra simple, and flawlessly no frills Chameleon can do it all.

Santa Cruz Juliana

Something you may remember from your middle school health class is that boys and girls have different bodies. Yeah, no duh, but what that translates into in the bike world is they have vastly different needs in their bikes. To answer the call, we've rebuilt the classic Juliana to suit the desires of the legendary Juliana Furtado. Like the Superlight, it has improved and unsurpassed lateral stiffness, and will turn the phrase 'rides like a girl' into a terrifyingly truthful compliment.

See the detail at santacruzmtb

Santa Cruz Superlight

The Superlight has been the consistently reliable staple of our family of bikes, but now we've redesigned this little beast. It still has the 100 mm of rear wheel travel, but now it proudly shines with even more lateral stiffness. As one Luddite in our employ stated recently: "this is the first suspension bike I've ever ridden that didn't make me immediately long for my hardtail." Truer words have never been spoken. The long and the short of it is, the new Superlight rules.

Santa Cruz Heckler

Over the years since its introduction, the Heckler has undergone a steady evolution and made a lot of friends along the way. Not wanting to alienate any of those friends, we thought long and hard before pulling the trigger on the latest version of everyone’s favorite workhorse. We retained the long-legged, mellow handling geometry, bumped the rear travel up slightly to 150mm, designed the chassis around a 140mm-travel fork, built it strong with a 15mm diameter pivot axle and gusseted tubing, but kept it light with a 6.4lb frame and shock weight. If bikes could be thought of in human athletic terms, some could be compared to marathon runners, and some could be thought of more like wrestlers. Somewhere in the middle, you’d find the Heckler. A damn good rugby player. Even got a built-in bottle opener...

Santa Cruz Bullit

A two-year absence can imply many things - a round-the-world sailing trip, half a college education somewhere far from home, going to jail for tax evasion – two years can change you, man...
In the case of the Bullit, it was like a two-year stint in charm school. The bike is still big and brawny, built for tall drops and hard landings – with 178mm of rear wheel travel, a heavy duty 6069 aluminum frame with a stout 20mm pivot axle, a choice of either 135mm q.r or 150mm thru-axle dropouts, 203mm brake rotor clearance, an optional floating brake kit and a 1.5” steerer tube – but she’s come back with some very refined trail manners and a curvy set of new tubes. Charm school? Sure, but one that teaches judo too.

Santa Cruz V-10

Here is a bike just for the ilk of cyclist who desires the white-knuckled mayhem only your favorite elevator shaft of a descent could serve up. 254 mm of active rear wheel travel set with 100 mm of sag will provide you with the pure confidence to obliterate any obstacle that the trail throws your way, yet thanks to a spry 6061 aluminum frame, it's agile enough to be thrown around beneath you all the way to the podium. Oh yeah, while you're up there, don't forget to spray some champagne on Steve Peat. We hear he likes that.

See the detail at santacruzmtb

Santa Cruz VP-Free

The question is simple: are you tough enough for the Free? Possessing an incredible 215mm of active rear travel, 150 mm thru-axle rear wheel, 1.5" head tube, ISCG05 chain guide mounts, and completely over-built everything, there's nothing the Free can't handle. If you choose to spend all day going straight down, or throw on a triple and get your climb on, the Free will, without a doubt, set you free. If the 4X is the Charles Bronson of our bikes, then the Free is very definitely the Robocop, only with more travel.

Mongoose Tyax Elite Bike 2007 | Hard Tail MTBs

The Mongoose Elite bike is great value for money. It features a heat treated alloy frame combined with a SR Suntour XCM 100mm travel front fork and uses Shimano FD-C050 front derailleur, Acera rear derailleur and Suntour cranks.

What MTB Magazine Review
"Out of all four test bikes (Giant Yukon - Decathlon Rockrider 6.3 - Revolution Cuillin Disc), the Tyax Elite feels most at home on man-made singletrack, and this is due to its fork. With the fork not rebounding over every ripple, you can decend faster and more sure-footedly. It even climbs easier because the fork tracks bobbly surfaces better. And on technical sections the very wide bar and well-balanced feel make for great slow-speed stability. Brakes and gears are only slightly more low-rent than its rivals, and the differences don't add up to anything you can feel through the seat of your pants. In fact, because it handles better on technical climbs, it feels as if its gears had a 34T bottom cog instead of a 32. The Kenda Komodo tyres are reasonable 'all condition' treads, a bit like a budget Fire XC Pro."

"The most expensive, lightest and shortest in travel (on test), with race written all over it, the King could easily have gone in the Speedsters bike test coming soon. It's far more than just a race bike though, and while it's certainly on the whippet side of hound dog, its taut frame, confident handling character and surprisingly smooth suspension action make it a faithful and very fast trailmate."

Kona Kikapu 2006 | Full Suspension MTBs

Building great bikes is not rocket science - it's knowing where to look for ideas and having the intelligence to be quiet and just listen. Since their very beginning, Kona have been listening to those riders who are continually pushing the definition of what a bike needs to be in order to perform. That's why Kona has consistently supported and designed for cycling's top talents.

Kona have found that you can't build innovation too far in front nor too far behind what is currently happening at the moment. They innovate when it's necessary, not when the market dictates. Kona products are designed with the focus on a specific task or need. Every item is designed around the culture of its core users.
